Wednesday, January 23, 2008
Rich Peach Cheese Cake
1 kg Philly Cream Cheese or any cream cheese
4 eggs
1 cup of caster sugar
1/2 cup of Corn flour
Canned Peach Slices-drained
Vanilla Essence - 1tspoon
Oreo/Cream O or Oatmeal accordingly
2 tbspoon butter
Method:
Crush Cookies finely and mix with butter evenly.
Press to bottom of baking pan and bake for 5 mins.Put aside to cool down.Arrange Peach Slices to base.
Meanwhile, beat cream cheese with a cup of caster sugar, adding in egg one after another.Remember to beat with normal speed.Overbeating will result in trapped air which will cause surface crack.
Sift corn flour and continue beating with slow speed until smooth.Add in cubed peach.
Pour mixture in baking pan and bake in oven.
When done, put aside to cool at room temperature. To retain quality, wrap with cling wrap nicely, placed in an airtight container and keep in fridge.
This will help the cake stays fresh until consumption.
Option:Glaze or use blueberry filling if desired, prior to serving.
Yummy.Pics will be uploaded shortly.

NExt post.....>Pure cheese cake with pear base!

Bolly Good Time
Back then,I wasn't at all moved by them.To me,they were just some boring tearjerker who cares of nothing but being in love.Silly!hehehe...eksen sik eksen?
Then,in July 1999,I went for my industrial training in MLNG,Petronas,Bintulu.I stayed with my Aunty in Tanjung Kidurong. My Aunty was REALLY into Hindustan movie. She knows every single actress & actor, which film they starred, which era, which baju & which song to fit in!Pergh....extreme tak extreme? So I was left with no option but to watch with them.Mostly,I will fall asleep or revert to other activities in the middle of the movie!Paling koman pun I will make some fritters for everybody to enjoy!Sanggup aku mengorbankan diri...hehehe..
Then, one fine day,my cousin who was a temporary teacher, brought back a Hindi movie CD.It's titled:Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge! And I tell you...in one word...LOVE!I love the movie...I fall head over heels for the movie and for Shah Rukh Khan!hehehehe...........yes...I was that silly...hehehehe...
But I do LOVE him!Kerana dia sungguh menerbitkan kecintaan. To me he was cute,compassionate,funny,adorable....segalanya!To make things better, one of the Senior Manager in Mechanical Dept(Static) was from Mumbai! His name was Dr Mamidi Govinda Raju.So I used to spend sometines with him, discussing over Bollywood movies.I learned a few words as well.Dil means Heart.Dilwale means Braveheart!Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge means:The Braveheart Will Take The Bride!Sweet?Yeah...I wouldn't do any review or film critic here, coz I dunno how!But that story still etched beautifully in my memory.Sigh......And now I am listening to the song:Zara Sa Jhoom wateva...I could still imagine the scene where Kajol wore a red mini dress in a snowy mountai...?Weird...but cute!hehehe...tak sejuk ka?

Hujung Minggu Ini....

Today I am scrubbing my kitchen!Dok tengah syok2 menyental, sekali hos gas aku tertanggal!Huish!Berdesup jantungku!Teruk la satu rumah bau gas.Jadi, after I finished with all my cleaning ( yeayy...dapur ku chantek semola!),I took my shower, prepared the kids and off we go to Boulevard, for lunch.Boulevard is one of the latest shopping Mall in Kuching.Style macam Penang Mega Mall, but most of the outlets are not open yet!I wonder why they purposely opened it to the public. You see,the Banglas are still there knocking that and this and whatever ajaklah!Mainly, every area is still under construction.Anyway, the main objective of going to Boulevard adalah kerana I am famished!Tak mau masak pasal takut meletup!!!hehehhe...yes..I am DRAMATIC!Ok..to be frank..i wanted to go to Sushi King!Tapi bila we reached there,i changed my mind.Well,my hubby is not THAT fond of Japanese food. So,we opted to eat at Kenny Rogers instead of Sushi King.Lagi pun I said to my hubby:Takpe..balik kang org pi beli take away je lah!Lagipun sebelah2 jer.Takpe.
Funny how Kenny Rogers couldn't cater to my need of paying using that plastic money!Reason:"Oh..mesin kredit kad kamek org belum sampei gik daghi Kay Ell kak.."!Come on...klu jln2 tempat crowded, nak bawa a lot of cash is not a good idea!At least to me.I hate fumbling for cash, knowing that there will always be a chance I dropped a RM50 note somewhere.Always happened!Seb baik ada bawak sikit.tarak kalu apa cerita?I mean,I promised to buy lunch!rasa macam nak belanja plak...takkan nak revert back to Hubby kan?So we had:
Mashed Potato & Gravy RM6.50
Beef Bolognaise RM15.90x2
Mango Juice RM5.90x2
Fruit Jelly Delight RM10.90
1/4 Black Pepper Ala Carte RM9.90
1/4 Original Chick RM9.90
Sub Total RM80.80
5% Govt Tax RM4.04
10% Service Charge RM8.08
Total RM92.92
Nasib baik ada bawak sikit lam wallet...hehehehehehehe.....pengajaran:No matter how tedious for you to keep small changes, pls spare at least few hundreds kalu berjalan.Just in case.......

I Like This :-)
"I Like this!"
Whimsical art of making policy
MUSINGS
By MARINA MAHATHIR
It seems that these days, instead of a well-researched, well-thought out comprehensive plan to tackle any problem, we get ad hoc suggestions here and there.
SOME motorbikes overtake a minister’s car and he immediately wants to ban big bikes from the highways.
A deputy minister claims that his ministry has no plans to institute an intrusive blood test on everyone, when his own official documents state that that’s exactly their policy.
Another parliamentary secretary, speaking entirely outside the field of his expertise, ‘thinks’ that we should have a certain policy.
A minister happens to hear a doctor’s advice on radio, gets offended, and cancels the entire programme.
All this leaves me wondering how policy is actually made in this country. Is it by whimsy? Is it when some politician’s ego is bruised?
Or is it through careful study of whether that policy is really beneficial to the most number of people, rather than to appease the easily deflated self-esteem of the pompous?
Appeal to ego: Superbikers like these should invite the minister concerned, give him the biggest bike and let him go for a ride.Is there some grand plan to anything? Is the banning of motorbikes on highways part of some major plan to improve road safety?
If so, wouldn’t time and energy be better spent dealing with the Mat Rempit problem that contributes to more broken heads at Friday night emergency rooms than anything else?
Or some campaign to get people to buckle up their children in cars?
It seems that these days, large pictures are ignored in favour of small peeks at a problem. Instead of a well-researched, well-thought out comprehensive plan to tackle any problem, for example, public security and safety, we get ad hoc suggestions here and there.
Real serious debate on the pros and cons, based on sound information rather than personal opinion, is absent.
Then you have to wonder how good a policy is when it is finally made.
In the meantime issues that need immediate leadership response are not managed.
For instance, there needs to be strong messages that vigilantism will not be tolerated when it comes to dealing with crime suspects, especially those accused of child abuse or murder.
I hear the most appalling comments about people not yet charged with anything. Then they are released.
Yet the public is never reminded of the principle of innocent until proven guilty.
I read about how some people beat a foreigner to death because they suspected him of stealing a watch.
While they were pounding him to a pulp, the woman who lost her watch found it. By that time it was too late.
What causes these things? It is nothing but sheer prejudice against foreigners whom we assume are the source of all crime in this country.
Yet, the police themselves have come out to say that locals commit 80% of all crimes in this country.
When we do have evidence, nobody then uses it as the basis for a policy to prevent discrimination against foreigners, which would also help our relations with other countries.
Instead we let these fester, perhaps because they are politically useful.
When we do have sound policies, nobody keeps an eye on their enforcement.
The other day, it was mentioned in newspaper headlines that a suspected child murderer died of AIDS-related complications.
In the first place, we have a policy of confidentiality about people’s health status in this country, especially for highly stigmatised diseases like AIDS.
This confidentiality does not end with death because of the effect on families left behind.
Secondly, what has the health status to do with the case? The guy died, so you can’t proceed with the case.
But to specifically mention that he died of AIDS-related causes immediately implies that people with HIV/AIDS have a special propensity to commit heinous crimes, despite a total lack of evidence that this is so.
Did anyone from the ministry concerned come out and slap the wrists of whoever was responsible for the revelation?
As a result, the prejudice continues and the work to manage HIV in this country becomes ever more difficult.
When policymaking is based on the whims and fancies of whoever wants to say anything about it, it leaves an environment of uncertainty and unease.
Does it mean that if someone else has another whim, the policy will change?
Assuming policies are meant for the benefit of the most number of people, how do we even know if they are any good when the process by which policy is made is less than transparent?
Whimsical policymaking also means that policies can be changed also by appealing to whimsy and ego.
If I were a superbiker, I’d invite the minister concerned, give him the biggest and most powerful bike around, some handsome leathers and let him go for a ride.
Accompany him, but make sure you never pass him.
Then we’ll soon see that there’ll be no more talk about banning bikes on highways.
Selamat Hari Raya, maaf zahir bathin, everyone!
Early Bird Gets the 1st Worm!
Well,to be frank,I am early because I am still using the company transportation service.Kesian aku....Now ... let this be a lesson to everybody....PLS....GET A DRIVING LICENCE BEFORE YOU ARE 20YRS OLD!Or else, you'll end up like me....because,the older we are,the busier we get and the road will be more densed with cars and what-nots!Benci nya...

Aduish...
People who are Impulsive Spenders tend to use money to soothe themselves and to get a little pick-me-up, especially when things feel stressful. Spending may feel like a way to nurture themselves — whether directly, such as when they spend money on eating out or on groceries, or indirectly, through the emotional charge they get from the act of purchasing itself. In addition, it's likely that, more than others, they experience shopping as an enjoyable pastime or hobby.

Multi-Dates Entry...Again
28-Dec-2007;Friday
Haza mai ikut rombongan lawatan sekolah.Sek. Keb. Permatang Tok Mahat,Nibong Tebal.Oh,Haza is my Sis in Law.Emm finally you're here-lah!Welcome to Sarawak.
29-Dec-2007;Saturday
I was expecting m hubby to fetch her from her hotel & bring her home. But she was somewhere sometime the whole day.Pegi melawat & menyopping la kan.So I cooked quite a lot.My parents were sending Ein to to her rented house in Samarahan. She will be starting her class soon ( UITM ).Good Luck Sis.
We went to Bt 7,planning to meet Haza there but we didn't manage to locate her!So we made a turn and wenr back to...Kuching.Err..not really lah Kuching,to be exact,we were lepaking at the airport( hat belakang tu... ),watching the plane took off!hemm...We finally met her at the Waterfront at around 6:30pm.Went straight back to her hotel, checked out and bring her home.On the way home,we took a few pics, stopped by dekat Pasar Minggu Satok, went to eat Mi Kolok Kubah Ria.Hehehe....sejak bila la aku jadi pelancong di Kuching tok?
30-Dec-2007;Sunday
Got up early and we sped off to Serikin to accompany Haza for her retail therapy.Serikin is a village at the Kalimantan border. The concept is more or less like Padang Besar Perlis.Items on sale were telekung,Batik,Sarung, handicrafts,Serving Sets,Crystals etc. Here the price of items are pretty interesting!Whether it is cheap or not, will depend on how good oneself in bargaining. For example, you can get a clock handicraft made of teak wood at Rm95,RM75 or RM30,which is supposedly of the same quality and size. You are advised to roam the area and do some price scan/survey before bargaining seriously. For me,I always prefer to buy crystal/ceramic/porcelain serving sets, considering that they are cheaper here.Compared to the likes of them that you buy at Berjaya outlet ,it is really worth the trip.It is of the same quality, but priced differently. After all, this place is an estimated 1 hour ride from Matang Jaya.Or maybe less...
I didn't buy anything except for a pair of Kain Kebaya Sulam ( dunno how to refer to it la).Cantik...
31-Dec-2007.
Last day for 2007.I am working though.
1st Jan 2008;Tuesday
Happy New Year.Nothing much,just resting @ home.
2nd Jan 2008;Wednesday
Working.Today is the best part of 2008. :-D..............
Yeayyyyy!!!!!!!!!I checked for the status of my Application to USM.Alhamdulillah...I will register on 5th June 2008.The course will take 4 years.Oppss..it's a distance learning program.Bachelor of Science ( Honours ),Physics. My boss said that it's not easy.I have to admit that, but to me it's not impossible as well.I know I have a Dip in Mechanical Eng,but I have no better option. If I were to wait for a part time course in Eng,sampai ke sudah la aku dok lagu ni jer.So I think the best is to divert to pure physics. At least there's not THAT much different, right?Anyway, wish me all the best!InsyaAllah.Better late than never. But to me,it's never too late :-)!
